Day 13 – Crocodiles and Elephants!

We started the day with traveling a distance to see the crocodiles and performing elephants.  On our way there, we captured photo’s of some of the scenery and architecture along the way.  Once we got to the Samphran Zoo, it was lunch time so, we ate there at the zoo and then headed out to watch the crocodile show.  We came across some monster sized tigers that Susan and Thomas just had to get a picture with.  We got to the crocodile show and it was a bit crazy.  Two guys were pulling the crocs around by the tail, provoking them and sticking their hands and heads in their mouths, like I said CRAZY.  but, it was entertaining.  After the crocodile show, we went to see the elephant show.  Before it started, two gentlemen performed a magic show.  it was very good.  The assistant was mute, but he was hilarious.  The elephant show was great, they told a historical story of how elephants were used and involved in the historical events of Thailand.  Afterward, Susan, Mark and Thomas rode the elephants around the arena.  It was fascinating to see how intelligent the elephants are.  We left Samphran and went to the Rose Garden to watch a performance of the Thailand culture.  The costumes were very colorful, the music very good and the acting was great.  It had been a long hot day, so we headed back to the hotel for some R and R.  We met with some of Nat and Liz’s closest friends for a farewell dinner that evening at Romona’s Italian and Spanish Restaurant.  The food was awesome, we had some of the best wine I’ve ever tasted but more-so the company was terrific.  We had a piano player that was fantastic and the karaoke that went with it was absolutely the best entertainment anybody could have asked for.  Nat and Mark sang “I Did it My Way”  Susan and Paul and then Susan and Usa did a couple duets together, it was great.  We had the best time ever.  We all danced to YMCA and a slow dance or two.  It was hard to end to end the evening because we knew that would be the last time we would see Johnny, Usa, Jack, Paul, Dustin, Wee and William for a while.  They all treated us like we were part of the Royal Family, but more than anything, they became good friends!  Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we did being in them!!
