Day 12 – Bangkok Shopping

Were back in Bangkok, our time here in Thailand is dwindling down unfortunately, so we had to visit our favorite Thai BBQ place for chicken and green papaya to get us going for the day.  After we stuffed ourselves, we went by Johnny and Usa’s company, Energy Save www.psjenergysave.com so they could show us their energy saving product for lighting and how it works.  It’s an absolutely amazing product as we got a live demonstration of how reducing the energy output by 35 – 50% does not affect the light output as recognized by the human eye but yet the light meter clearly showed the reduction in output, hence saving a lot of money in energy costs.  We enjoyed the education and the fact they allowed us to see their operation and their assembly factory.  After we left there, we of course had to hit the MBK Mall one last time for more Bangkok Shopping.  It’s a mecca of anything and everything you could imagine.  Make sure when you come to Bangkok shopping is on your list of things to do several times.

After leaving the Bangkok shopping behind, Nat took us to one of his favorite Chinese Restaurants that his Mom use to frequent called Coca.  We had two pots of broth simmering, while they brought all kinds of goodies to be cooked for a hearty soup called Suki Yaki.  It was absolutely wonderful, full of flavor and texture from the meat, baby bok  choy, fish and tofu with some garlic and thai chili’s to top it off.  It was great.  Then we had a thin pastry desert topped with ground cashews, peanuts, sugar and toasted sesame seeds.  It was yummy!  After again, stuffing ourselves, we decided to go down to China Town and see the sights while we walked around for a bit.  Nat bought one of the ‘stinky’ fruit Durian, for everyone to try.  Susan and Nat liked it, nobody else did, it was kinda nasty and had a funky texture.  It stank up the van a bit, so Nat offered it to a worker at a gas station, who was happy to receive it.  Time to end the night and brush our teeth!!
